Just ‘found’ Sparky Anderson’s autograph

It’s been a bit lonely at the house lately – my wife and daughter are at the Cape with my parents during the vacation week. I usually get home from work at 12:45 a.m., and since I don’t have to be up early without the little one around, I like to read before hitting the sack.

T-minus two months

The runner’s “Christmas” is now two months away. Just 59 short days until the Boston Marathon.

I’m already excited.

That’s because it’s been seven years since I’ve run Boston.

Yes, Patriots’ Day is a ways off. But if radio stations can start playing Christmas music just after Veterans Day, then I can pound my chest about Marathon day. Continue reading ‘T-minus two months’

The all-inclusive world of running

Friday night, 8 o’clock: Called a complete stranger, asked him if he wanted to go for a run.

Noon, next day: Met in downtown Ayer for what turned out to be a two and a half hour trot.

In April we will run the Boston Marathon with the likes of Ryan Hall and Wesley Korir – the best in the world.
